WoW! Really cool!

Is this a <a href="http://www.quizilla.com/user_images/D/DarkAngel42/1087049135_night_elf.jpeg">Night Elf</a> or a <a href="http://images.fanpop.com/images/image_uploads/Blood-Elf-Wallpaper-world-of-warcraft-267531_800_600.jpg">blood elf?</a> Or is it not part of WoW at all?

Either way, I really think its cool. And, although I dont really agree with Legola88 and his opinion, he is entitled to it, and if you want to try and redo it like he suggested, then here is a suggestion of my own. Try doing it in color, and dont worry about using different shades of color, you can always go into photoshop and use the burn and dodge tools.

mrbob0822 responds:

This isn't actually from the World of Warcraft. It originally started out as a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. My friend generated a female elf with a massive sword and a huge attitude.

Eventually the campaign became so entertaining I turned it into a webcomic, but disbanded it about a year-and-a-half ago due to a lot of factors. You can find Reliquary here:

As for color, thanks for the suggestion. I've learned to try and avoid dodge and burn for anything more than minor "bumping", as they tend to provide a less than desirable effect when compared to a well thought out palette.

Thanks for the positive feedback though! Always a pleasure to hear.

not bad for a speed paint

the face is very well done for a timed piece... however the rest really shows how much of your time you spent on it... the body is very strange... almost hunch backed, twisted and warped... doesnt really have much distinction to it... its like a large block, the spikes on the shoulder look like some sort of bad welder put it together... i would really like to this this redone and touched up... it has potentional but in its current state its not great...

mrbob0822 responds:

Hey, thanks for the critique! It's tough writing a critical review providing helpful things for an artist to work on, but you've given me plenty to think about and apply to future pieces.

Thanks again!
