I want to read the story manuscript. I'm willing to be Max has a dark back-story?
These are my characters which I created for a story I am currently writing, but I thought they fit well for Jazza's current challenge of the month. The man is named Max and the pretty young robot is ASHA. ASHA is a synthetic intelligence with a processor so powerful and adaptive that she can learn, make choices, and even feel like a human being. When she haphazardly falls into Max's care, the pair begin to find their humanity through one another, maybe even more than they thought possible.

Thanks a lot! I'd send the manuscript, but I don't really like having it out in the world when I haven't gotten a chance to start storyboarding the comic yet.
I'll give a quick breakdown: In the late 21st century, a worldwide catastrophe destroys the electrical infrastructure, setting humanity back over a century. Only a few relics of high technology remain, mostly weapons and scientific equipment.
Max is the son of a brilliant mechanical engineer. His father is unfortunately killed, but Max takes it upon himself to complete his unfinished research, leading to a lonely and secluded life.
Max meets ASHA through extraordinary circumstances, freeing her from captivity. Max must help ASHA evade her previous captors once she reveals the grave truth of their intentions. Max slowly becomes aware of just how advanced ASHA's processor is, as she can clearly feel, hope, and dream on her own, without prewritten programming.
I'm working on a different book right now to promote at my local comic con this year. If you want to check out teasers for the current story, here you go: https://vimeo.com/martinmasi
Thanks for the interest, I'll definitely keep up with your work as well!
