I painted this today for a contest thing, run by school. For my age group i was required to traditionally capture a moment in the story of Moses. I chose to paint, the splitting of the red sea.
one thing i don't like about tradition, is that the picture i upload here may not present it here very well. this painting has a lot more vibrant colors, and i just couldn't get it right in the picture.
I went for an aggressive angle, that worked out pretty well, the water is a bit weird looking, (more on that in a sec) my clouds are pretty bad, i painted and repainted them, oh well.
so like i was saying about the water looking weird, i watched a lot of tutorials and looked at tons of references for waves, but when it came to the angle of the piece, and the fact that it was a wall of water none of the tutorials were used. looking back now i should have looked for water fall tutorials, and references.
anyway thanks for checking this piece out, and as always i am open to tips and advice
let me know what i should paint or draw for my TENTH submission to new grounds!!!
