This page was especially hard for me. Starting a story can be difficult and it can be best compared to the feeling of making your Skyrim character. I wanted to start right in a fight, but I also wanted to show the insignificance of the characters. I decided to air on the latter, and start with this wide shot that shows the empty desert with these dinosaurs. It separates the story from our reality, and makes the time and location ambiguous.

Ariya getting out of the sand is also pretty important here. Story wise, she is lost, dumped here somehow. Metaphorically, she is crawling out of the sand (in a desert so large, she might as well be a grain of sand in it), the creatures react with fear and surprise (a response that means that these creatures know to fear humans, or things that look like them) and her stern and determined look lets the reader know that she is not easily going to give up on survival.
