Man I like the good use of red.
Hey all :)
First off I apologize for the shitty picture, if anyone has any tips on photographing their work let me know ;) But I guess this is a nice way to keep it from being duplicated, although I highly doubt someone would steal this piece.
This was a piece I did for my Drawing Methods Midterm at Columbus College of Art and Design. I didn't really like the way it turned out but I hope some of you guys can enjoy it for what it is. Basically our midterms were based on "War Dances" a collection of short stories written by Sherman Alexie. It's definitely worth the read if you're interested.
In the short story I chose, an intruder is caught by a homeowner. And when threatened rather than escaping through his entry point (a broken window) he charges the startled homeowner who is forced to swing his son's miniature baseball bat which subsequently causes the intruders death.
My take on this story was that the intruder had two options, and rather than escaping through the window he charges an armed man essentially bringing on the man's deadly retaliation.
Man I like the good use of red.
Thanks Andrew! I build up charcoal on a red piece of canon paper :)
