This is one of my graphite works. The piece is 14"x17"s, done with drafting tech holders and 3 grades of graphite. The shading and highlighting is done with blending stubs and a putty eraser.
Graphite is my first love, the computer works I have been doing as of late, is a new medium for me.
There is a copy of a poem at the bottom that was first written by myself in 1998. The poem is also entitled "Mercy" and was the way I was able to keep the image I first envisioned fresh in my mind till I had the proper tools to commit her to paper.
Death is a Lady
I seldom give a 10 to anyone but this drawing is the exception because I love it so much. I usually don't like morbid pictures but this one is strangely erotic. I also love graphite as a medium as well as charcoal and pastels, there is a softness and sensuality that is not obtained with oil or acrylics. There is a saying that I heard while in Viet Nam, "Death is a lady," This drawing immediately dredged up that old memory. BEAUTIFUL AND EVOCATIVE

Nice drawing, as well as the chilling poem at the bottom!!! Latin on the scythe is well used as well--I take Latin--although "mortus" needs two u's like mortuus, just so ya know
