"You can find her in the depth of the black waters as you can find her in the depth of your despair...like a flower reaching for light, she rises from the deep towards your light and makes it her own...a beautiful creation or a monster? in any case, don't drop your light in the deep dark waters ;) "
I was reading a manga(also watched the anime with same name) called 'Kuragehime'. Which means jellyfish princess. So I thought I can try something along the title of the manga. Though my painting does not depict any part or idea of the manga, I still think it was a good inspiration for me.
I wanted to experiment with pale colours or rather a pale outcome with an eerie subject. The reason I gave her bit of blur is to create the sense of mystery as underwater it all looks blurry and vague, but I intended to keep her face clear...as if it's a half awake dream. As for the background, I could not find anything better than a plain black one as it shows the unusual discomfort of the image as well as a sense of unknown. If I placed any object, that too near seabed, the mysteriousness would have been gone...I think the blackness and the blindness of the background added extra eeriness.
