I originally drew and painted this piece for a contest over on Dungeon Fighter Online, but I never heard anything else about the contest since then.
Yep, it's a space themed gun.
Took probably a week with all the layering of pencil shading and paint. The grip and details are actually done in nail polish over acrylic paint, to give a real life sparkly/iridescent/transp arent effect. It's very space-like and shiny in person.

Very nice the use of the nail polish is both great looking and innovative, the only constructive criticism I have is that the chamber looks a little small in relation to the barrel and the grip is just a tad to forward curved, but hey its all perspective and i like it anyway!
Thanks! I was trying to blend a couple of different types of guns together, and it threw me off with the chamber and grip. :P

very good detail, and the nail polish/paint just looks awesome. maybe the metal parts are not shiny enough, but other than that... wow
Thanks! The camera flash killed the detail on the shading, but if I hadn't used it, the polish details wouldn't have shown up. :/
