Grundel-fish

In addition to what has been said before, I think the bubbles in the background are not very convincing. They need at least a little depth.

Apart from that I like the beast. Especially the emptiness in its eyes. Also the mouth makes me think about "the Grundel" from the 80's Ghostbusters show.

Nice job!

Quite good

Quite good but I dont really like it; it looks quite messy with all the different colors and stuff. great work on the eye.

Havegum responds:

Messy is what I thought too, plus I don't like the line quality outlining it. Thanks for the review!

Ringo No Uta

It's all a bit blurry, and many of the lights don't convince me. For an image that completely supports on the use of light it's not a very good one, I'm afraid.

In your image, light shines from above, right on it's head, which doesn't make any sense since we're deep underwater. The only lights should be coming from the holes. You could've played with those for some cool effects.

I like its mouth, don't be angry :3

Havegum responds:

I'm not angry, I'm glad there's someone to point out flaws in which I hadn't noticed myself!
But yeah, I agree with the lights not making sense. Thanks for the review!

It's really good.

Damn good. think it's the best I've seen from you. The composition could use a little work. It's a little static. Everything is on one depth, and it's a straight profile view. Could be a little more dynamic. But the rendering, lighting, color, and texture are spot on. Well done.

Havegum responds:

Thanks for saying that! I don't really like it myself, I was actually debating even sticking it in the art portal.
Looking at it in retrospective, I'd say it's too messy, and that the colors don't make sense at some spots. Thanks for the review though!

Woah...

Holy fish Batman!!!

On a more serious note,
I like the lighting and glow coming from the holes, and the eyes are really cool. I wish the eyes would have the same glowing effect as the holes do, but it works nonetheless.
The fin on its back could use perhaps a bit more definition from the rest of the body. The same-looking skin/scales could look much improved with a little bit of variety.
Still, great job!

Havegum responds:

Yeah, I was at a point where I kinda wanted the eye to glow, but I wanted it to be seen as an eye and not another one of those spots.
Thanks for the review!
