This image is the basic look I wanted for this image, I am considering revising the backdrop.

Nice details, balance all wrong

I suggest you listen to the critiques given here, they are supposed to make you improve your skills. :-)

You say below 'she is not a princess and is not supposed to look like a hollywood babe.'

A hollywood babe is exactly what the viewer expects when first looking at this picture. The first thing the viewer sees is a revealing dress with big boobs in a winter landscape.

It looks like a fantasy drawing and people are surprised to see a manly/older/realistic head on top of the babe's body.

Although the balance and some of the proportions can be improved, I definately like some of the detailed work you put in here. I hope you can bring it all together in future drawings!

She still looks like a man

I'm not criticizing the model you got to pose ofr this, I'm criticizing your inability to make her appear feminine in this picture. The way you did her proportions look really weird too. And the eyes on that horse are super small. And if you were going for historical accuracy, or even just practicality, I don't think she would be wearing something so revealing in what looks like the middle of winter. Plus if she's not supposed to be a member of the nobility I don't think the average peasant could afford clothing so extravagant.

a guy?

I'm not sure if it's me or the picture, but the princess really looks like a guy to me (face, hands size, even chest at some extend)... else don't get me wrong, it's very good !

I think for the face, the eyes are too small, nose is too big, chin is too big, chin skin should be less saturated or something, more feminized lips... but the features are at the right place..

just my 2 cents buddy, nice work!

GotRedOnYou responds:

just dont tell the model I used to draw from, or she will be quite upset with you, believe it or nor, she is real and does look like this. analysing art is always great, but mocking how the figure looks judging by thier stature isnt fair, she is supposed to look like a middle aged woman of the 13th century, she is not a princess and is not supposed to look like a hollywood babe. your reviews should be a little less speculative next time chap :)
