One of my best (most challenging) 3D models. Sadly, I lost the max file on an old hard drive -- All I have left is some lowly jpgs.

Modeled and Rendered in 3D studio Max.

If you like this, please check out my other work!

Not bad

but It needs more work...

do better shadows, because they are way too sharp, and they sucks.

this scene has lot of potencial, keep up, and see my work with blender

what render do you use? I use V-Ray

FlipWillie responds:

*Sigh* Rub it in, will you?

As I mentioned, I lost the max file; so fixing anything now is impossible. I made this more than a year ago. Back then, my primary concern was modeling, and I didn't have much experience in anything else.

I have seen you work, and it is good. ;)

Now, I usually render with Mental Ray. Back then I probably just used the default scanline renderer that comes with max. I have used V-ray before, but I upgraded to 64-bit and haven't managed to get it back.

Thanks for your input.

This is amazing!

You must have worked on this for a long time. I love everything about it, the color, the structure, the shadowing, the details.....everything. You are an amazing artist. I can't wait to see more of your pictures.

FlipWillie responds:

Ha, Thanks!

It took about a week. It was my last week of Christmas break, and I desperately wanted to get something done before I went back to school. This was the result. I wish I was still able to finish it. It would have been cool to add pedals, a stool, etc.

In max, the piano registered that it had somewhere around 100,000 vertices. (I think.)

Anyway, thanks for the nice words!

Very Realistic!

For a minute there, I thought it was a photograph. The shadows and the reflections look great.

However, the piano is missing pedals and a music stand. Despite these flaws, it's actually pretty good, I bet it would look even better with the old max files.

4/5

FlipWillie responds:

Haha, that IS why it doesn't have the pedals! I never finished it. I lost the file. *weeps*

Thanks for the support!

Well done.

Very cool 3d model. :P
However, I am not as good as you at 3d modeling and I create models using Blender only. Though, 3DS Max is a very complex studio .
Well Done!!!

FlipWillie responds:

Hey, thanks a ton!

I never had any official 3D modeling training. Anything I know, I learned either by tutorial or by myself. Keep at it, it gets easier the more you try.

(That being said, I am not that good -- I promise).

Blender is Linux and free, right? That is awesome. My first render was Pov-Ray (also free).
