Cooling Autumn

I want to make this a Series. Obviously there would only be four of them...
This was painted using water colors. I killed the paper, because I worked the paint too much. I hope it's not too noticeable!! I also know that the drawing isn't very good. The biggest issue I have with it is the chin. Sadly I didn't realize how off it looked till after I was done. And I feel I should have put some sort of 'eye shadow' around the eyes... But again. I had worked the paint so much that I was afraid I would tear into the paper there.

Please leave comments! I would love to hear what you think!

Holy Crap!!!

I absolutely loved your winter one, but THIS is is outstanging!!! Great shading, color, and facial structure!!! The ear would probably do a little it up from where it is now, but it really doesn't take away from the picture at all! Keep up the awesome work!!!

Googoo

Your coloring is great so is your shadowing.
I have a couple of problems with this one haha. But hopefully you'll (unless you already did) grow from some critique.
The lips seem a little low to me also it seems you gave too much
space under the jaw, If you would of drawn the start of the neck closer to the chin it wouldn't make the face seem so forward.
The last thing is the ear, You should always take into account that the ear ends at the same length where the nose ends. Also if you run your fingers up your jaw bone you will see that ear is right next to it.
So if you would of brought it up and moved if forward if would look just about right. Also I suggest taking a picture of yourself of a face pose that you could be struggling with. You would be surprised how much it helps.

Oh yeah. I've regretted this painting for a while now. I love the leave but the whole thing looks awful- But I did learn from it, and there for improved. Thank you. (:

that sucks

you did such a great painting... of an alien.

you've noticed it by now: ear.

my favorite part is the leaf.

Very Good

Ive seen many, many arts on newgrounds some are beautiful some are sloppy but yours is a fine piece of art.

There's one thing about this piece that will inflict ratings by raters like my-self, this is that the ear on this piece is a little bit low.

If you brought the ear up about 1.3 cm it would be perfect.

Because the ear is low but everything else is perfect I will give you 9/10

I hope this helps..

dreamzmighty responds:

Yeah. I actually learned of this just yesterday- that it looks off, the ear that is- If I could fix it- I totally would. Oops. Well, at least that means I need to keep moving forward, but thank you very much! That it sucks that the ear being too low makes you dislike like it a little. But it's cool. B) I'll win you over some how!

Awesome!

The drawing isn't very good?! That's more talent there than a lot of the things I've seen here on the art portal!

I wish I could work with colors like that. I can only do rough pencil sketches. :P

Anyway, you are awesome. I honestly didn't even notice the chin until you said something about it.

Keep creating!

dreamzmighty responds:

Ha ha! Thank you very much! I continue to feel iffy about the actual drawing, because I suppose it's because the model wore make up- and I didn't remove it- So I feel like her eye looks... animated I suppose. I feel like it sort of ruins it. Just to be honest. But thank you very very much!
