You speak wisdom, as usual. But please remember that some of your something is happiness which comes from the people who love your art. There's a lot of somethings out there, but your something is something else.

I find that being genuinely open comes with the cost of disregard for one's status while only a fraction of people are truly the image of social norm. This becomes more or less a gamble on whether you'll be received positively or negatively, but then again to play it 'safe' and adjust yourself to others also risks your happiness in life.
