I stared out into the ocean and the faces stared back. Their eyes were empty and their hearts were broken. Broken just like mine. So I sat with them among the shadows and tatters of their cruel worlds, and listened to their words of cruel deeds. They told themselves and they told me how pointless life was. How simple everything was, and how terrible everyone was. I didn't believe a word of it, and I didn't believe for a moment I would ever stop reaching for these people.

I've watched my empathy go disregarded, my feelings go unconsidered, and my value as a human be summed in whole as nothing. So why am I here? I'm here because no matter what you might believe good or bad, if the heart is together or broken..Hope lives. Make no mistake my dears. As long as I'm around, you'll always have a friend, even if you're not quite sure of that just yet. So come and sit with me sometime. We have a whole lot of time. For what...? For everything.
