Annie is a mutant within my comics Astronautical. In the series humans on Earth continuously seem to be producing human-insect hybrids for varying reasons, generally though it is military. Annie is an example of one such military project. An attempt at an ultimate combat lifeform that is also self-propagating, this project initially resulted in the birth of the character Queenie. However Queenie was considered a failure as she was infertile and did not reproduce multiple offspring continuously for battle. After Queenie's escape the project was started anew, this time they used a young (thirteen) year old girl as opposed to an adult woman as they did with Queenie believing it might yield different results. And it did.

Annie now continuously produces what some would consider, grotesque offspring. Twice daily she goes through a shortened human labor process giving birth to a grub which quickly will mature into an adult humanlike ant. Every ant has miniscule differences between one another but Annie can pick any out of a crowd and loves each and every one with all her soul. Unlike Queenie who raises her triplettes like a caring and calm mature mother, Annie is much more enthusiastic toward life and maternity; throwing nonstop house parties within the hollowed out and abandoned military base she and her children took over, usually food provided by local people who have been robbed of their foods. Annie is a kind soul however, and wishes no harm against anybody, though she could easily overwhelm and rule the world in a heartbeat with her constantly expanding family she has no such ambitions and just wants to take life easy and be a mother and friend to all.
