Simplistic, but definitely conveys what you think the costs of living are. I'm seeing (infinite) money and time.
However, it might be a bit hard to tell that this is a dollar bill. Overall good job though.
This was a class assignment for my 2D: Multiple Processes class. We had to design a symbol that conveyed what the "cost of living" meant to us. This was the cleanest version of the final design that I came up with. It's a half-shifted dollar bill with an hourglass intertwined (and the $ shape is hidden in it as well). I drew out the design and created a stencil out of it, which I then traced with both fine and ultra fine sharpies, and I painted the rest of the symbol in with black ink (3 layers). The final version which I scanned in took about 2 hours to draw and paint in.
