The elements of value
There are a few different textures here demonstrated through the use of different angled strokes. I like the use of black as a way of enhancing the purple. The depth in value makes this piece very intriguing.

Next for my color series, I've always looked at purple as a kind of paranormal sort of color. It is no very common in nature, and was a slow kind of dark feel to it. I don't see it as a "still" color, but slow and creeping.
