Newgrounds Wiki: JetBus

5 Medals (150 points)

Drive a jet powered 1 passenger bus through cool levels, transporting people to their destination. You can get different vehicles and upgrades for them as well as nitros and brakes. There's 5 different types of people you can transport, 3 difficulty modes and 2 force types to complicate things.
  • Start playing on Easy Mode and work your way up from there. When you've completed Easy Mode, your bus should be upgraded enough to be ready for Normal Mode. Same goes for Hard Mode.
  • Read the tutorial. It is long, but it gives you all the information you need.
  • Crooks make a different sound that Joe's when they pop up. When playing a level with crooks, turn up your volume so you can hear the difference.
  • DO NOT CLICK THE WORD 'GARAGE' ON THE TITLE SCREEN, IT WILL DELETE YOUR SAVE FILE!!! Clicking it anywhere else is okay!

    The Levels

    Level 1
This level is easy on all modes. On Hard you just have to go along all doors to see which one is the right one, but since there's enough space to move around this won't cost much time. Level 2
Still easy, a bit harder on Hard. On Hard, when you pick up somebody on a spot other than the Void building, always go to the Void building first. This will spare you some time while guessing. Level 3
Easy on all modes, since you can move around freely. The wind in the bottom-left is very weak, so you don't need that much power to get through it. Beware of kids! Level 4
Easy on Easy and Normal Mode. The difficulty on Hard Mode depends on the spots where the people spawn. When they spawn at the sides, you can just go to the other side while taking a stop underneath he building, which is easy. When they spawn underneath the building, you've got to make a wise decision of going left or right, which is hard. Again, beware of kids. Level 5
Easy-peasy. I have nothing to say about this. There are only 3 doors which are easily accessible, so this won't be hard for you. Level 6
Easier than it seems, because you can fly right through the grey-ish parts of the building. This makes going from door to door a lot easier. When somebody spawns underneath the building you gotta decide again, but making the wrong decision will cost you less time than the previous level. Level 7
Easy on Easy and Normal, a pain in the ass on Hard. There are 6 doors, all with a very short landing platform, and the great majority of people spawning are kids so landing is gonna be a nightmare. I suggest you bop from platform to platform until you find the right door, and then quickly pick up the nearest kid. Patience is unimportant. Level 8
The big problem with this stage is the wind on the right. It is pretty strong. If you need to get to the door in the bottom-right corner, build up speed and go right through it. There's a chance you'll slam into a wall, but that doesn't matter.
Getting to the floor smack-dap in the middle wouldn't be a problem because of the wind. Getting out, however, is gonna be hard, since the wind will be pushing you back. To get out, go all the way to the left, and then go right with full speed. Use nitro if needed. Level 9
This level has 7 doors, meaning that on Hard, your guesswork is put to the ultimate test. Luckily, there will be a lot of grandpa's and hotties spawning, those are very patient, The majority of you flight will probably take place on the right side of the screen, by the way. Watch out for crooks! Level 10
Not too hard. On Hard, whenever you pick someone up, always go to the upper floor first. It'll take you less time. Crook alert! Level 11
Eight doors? Yes, well counted. However, this isn't as hard as you might expect. When you pick someone up on the left side on Hard, go to the upper floor on the left side and keep bopping from floor to floor until you're all the way down (of course, skip the floor on which you picked up the passenger). When the passenger didn't leave, go to the other side and do the same. However, this time you only have to land on the smaller platforms. This strategy should make it easier for you. Look out for kids. Level 12
Hard? Not really, though it somewhat depends on which passengers you get. On Hard, when you pick someone up, go to the upper floor and bop all the way down. This will help you a lot.
The only passengers spawning will be grandpa's and hotties. They are patient, but terribly slow. Therefore, when picking one up, fly right near them to make the time they must walk as short as possible (look out you don't hit them). Nitro would come in handy here.
There are also crooks spawning here so be careful!

Getting All Upgrades

Even after completing all modes, you still have to grind for enough money to get all upgrades. This grinding takes unbelievably long, and that only for a 10-pointer. I suggest you keep playing level 12 over and over using the Sports Car (it has infinite nitro), since that will gain you the most money. Do it on Normal Mode, so you can still kill the crooks.
While upgrading, keep in mind that you must buy EVERY dot. Skipping one will make you unable to get the medal and you're gonna have to start all over again. You don't have to purchase nitro and brake for the medal.

Getting the Time Machine

You're gonna have a hard time getting this vehicle, since the chance you get it is very rare. The Time Machine pops up as a pwer-up. When you got it while you were just playing, you can call yourself a lucky man.
Here's how you can get it the fastest way (which still takes a lot of time): at the start of each level a power-up drops. You just have to keep entering and exiting a level until the drop that spawns is the Time Machine. I suggest you do this on level 12, it has a lot of free space and you'll be right underneath the drop when it pops up. Believe me, it's gonna tear you apart, but just think of those 100 points you're gonna get (yes, secret medal revealed, whatever).
