I dunno why, but in my head I can almost hear this as a massive orchestral piece! Especially when it gets to the truly joyful pixelation towards the end! :) I love it so much!

the chiptune sound and the blues progression actually go together really well! i love how bouncy this sounds :D

LOL It’s definitely the bassline, they both have the I-V-I progression that is so common in music 🥴 probably could have used a different bassline to make it sound a little more unique although I feel it may sacrifice this tunes little charm
