Reviews for "Dangerous Science - Big Red Sun"

This feels a bit unpolished. For the intended feel, you didn't nail it but you got close enough that I find listening to it pretty enjoyable. Nice work overall :)

I like the ambiance you create in the beginning. The chord progression is very nice, the melody too, but could use less repetition.
Your bass frequency is too high, I would push down an octave and add saturation.
I don't like the kick sample you used.
Your sounds are too wet (too much reverb/delay?).
Almost all your sounds have no high end so the hi hat is very loud and out of place.
I believe the song is lacking stereo, it's mostly in mono, but that could just be me.
Mixing and sound design is very important to me, hence the low score. I hope my feedback was useful though. Good luck in your future projects !

Kysertron responds:

The bass is based on the top note of each chord (since the bottom note is always C). Also, there are two bass tracks. One is sidechained, and the other is offbeat (this one is stacked by an octave) to give a more upbeat feel for the song. Also, I don't saturate my basses.
Most of the sounds I used do not have reverbed (the only sounds that are reverbed are the bells and the pads at 1:49 and 3:12). I use a lot of reverb to signify space (that is one of the themes for this song).
I also noticed you mentioned most of the tracks are in mono. It is actually a mix of both. All of the bells and pads are stereo. Most sidechained tracks are between mono and stereo (except for sidechained pads, which are stereo).

I will take your feedback as advice though.

It's so good! :D

Feels like there's danger all around me and im speeding at 320 Mp/h

GOOSEBUMPS. SLIGHT TEARS. (I'm literally not joking)

The way I feel when listening to a song with a consistent dark theme abridged by deep, futuristic, distorted bass that bumps at a good tempo all while increasing the fundamental mysterious undertone that's slowly (but surely) building into an orchestra with a clear objective... is honestly so appealing that it's hard to place where in my childhood I became enamored by confrontational, immersive music.

You really can't have my love enough. For this song alone, I would love to donate to you to help with your future endeavors. Where is the best place to go on your profile to do that? (I see bandcamp is an option?)

Kysertron responds:

The best place to go for donations is Bandcamp. Speaking of which, this EP will be available on March 10.
