Not good as other Black mage vs someone
But not bad at all.
Let me explain it to you.
The reason why the graphics were so "horrible" was because that's how these characters originally looked in the original Final Fantasy game. So instead of changing the style with several "improvments" the author instead decided to stay faithful to the original design.
