Elfmann ?

Not Harry potter for me, i didn't saw the movie so... :P

But it reminds me a lot the work of Danny Elfmann on Jack or The Corpse Brid... really nice ambiance.

sorohanro responds:

great compliment, thanx
Danny Elfmann is one of my favourite composers
i have a more "DannyElfmannish" tune here, is called "Shaddows 2"
thanx for review

Hmm

dont take this wrong, but this film really reminded me of the music in harry potter n stuff... dont take offence by that i like some of the music in that lol

tis a great song bud, love how the piano is that slow, keeps the whole thing roling kinda...

sorohanro responds:

harry potter music was written by John Williams, who wrote also music for Superman, Star Wars and a lot more ... he is one of my favourites, so i really take it as a compliment
thanx for review

Excellent

A heavily-textured, complex, well-orchestrated and interesting piece. Only thing that bugs me is the extremely simple piano part - for some reason I feel like it would be a waste of a concert pianist, haha. But with no other instrument or combination of instruments can you get that specific sound, so it tends to work pretty well in the context of this song. All the little flourishes of strings, bells, oboe, and the brass "rips" are a great touch.

I love it, keep it up!

sorohanro responds:

thanx
that with piano doubling the bass line and play simple things you can hear in several classical works (The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns ) and also some film scores (Dick Tracy by Danny Elfmann)
well, i didn't calculate anything, this popped into my mind like it is, in a very specific moment
i think my mind transpose feeling directly into music sometimes... lucky me :))
thanx for your nice words
