At first I was thinking the shading needed work but then I realized it was made that way on purpose. The only part of the image that is shaded is jakes ears..
The way I see it, that symbolizes jakes willingness to learn, as well as James Camerons journey to create his world.
Overall I think there's a lot we can learn from a piece of art like this.
