the controls suck why do we need to use right and left to jump why not just press up while in the air its so simple to fix

Because you have Castlevania air physics and you won't be able to decide if you wanna go LEFT or RIGHT

Really don't like the incredibly wonky frustrating controls.
Having to input a direction again mid-air really doesn't work for me.

Great platformer! Due to the unusual control method, the game became more interesting and gave a greater challenge to the player! :D
