Loved the concept of the game. A well deserved prize so kudos to the devs on winning ;)
The idea of translation in games - even if here is done indirectly with the use of the Plantslator(tm) - is not very often threaded. On my first playthrough I got 65% of the dialogue, mostly because I thought the last convo with Rose would offer the chance to talk a bit more.
There is a lot of replayability although some people might find the trial-and-error approach to talking to the flowers a bit grating. I say "pfffffttt" to those people. How dare they!
Jokes aside, I think the game not forcing you to talk and giving a simple quest is a good idea. It gives you a grasp of the game and if you feel invested on it, you can keep searching for more dialogue options. It would be nice for moar games on this setting.
If only there was a Plantslator on this world u.u

You definitely can brute force a lot of the responses, but we tried to make every line that fit have some kind of response from the characters, so it's possible to find a majority of the dialogue logically. Goddamn, what a charming game! I really love the dialogue system in the game with how it works off of your limited recordings: felt awesome to talk with everyone and gather the appropriate lines like a puzzle/investigation, and it was very impressive in how many ways the plants reacted to every type of line you'd deliver (even the ones I'd just do as jokes, haha). So innovative and clever: blows modern dialogue systems outta the water since it actually involves more than just checking off everything in a tree or picking the best response! Reminded me of old-school games like Shadowrun or Wizardry where you could collect discussion topics to help your investigation. It did get a little frustrating at times with the limited recording space, but the game was short and sweet enough to not be an issue with that. Top off that innovative design with some really cute graphics and story; this is a winner! Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go back in and collect the rest of the dialogue!

We wanted to restrict how many lines you could have at once to make the choice of what you record matter. I can certainly understand how that limitation might be frustrating though! I love the simplistic environment in this game! The characters were so creative! Who knew you could use plants?! The gameplay is nice but the only really negative thing I have to say is when your as dumb founded as me on first playthroughs, you get lost pretty easily. If you plan on further development on this I would suggest tips. Kinda like a window box and have the option to turn it off for players that have played before or just want to go hardcore. Other than that this game is very nice and would love to see further development!
