Haha, wow, what a funny observation. Nobody in the game's almost 30-year history has ever thought of it that way. BTW, have you ever wondered what it'd be like if the 1-UP mushroom was drugs???
Now, see, this is why Sonic & Tails mode in Sonic 2 works best with two players.
