Reviews for "Solus- Endless Space Expanded"

It's me again

I forgot about this but now I remembered so here's a review for the full version.
You made this one much more interesting and variable than the previous one. What I don't like is the change of melody a bit after the cymbals, it sounds detuned in some places. But then those different synths come in and it rocks again. My biggest complaint would be though that there are still no drums:( Or you could have left it this way but excluded the cyms. Whateva. Perfect menu music again.

SolusLunes responds:

I REFUSE TER PUT IN DRUMS!

But the thing is, if you want to, I'd be glad to send you the .flp and whatnot.

Yeah, that little melody change was a mistake that managed to squeak in to the full version. Dunno how that happened, I thought I got rid of it.

Awesome

The beginning is most pleasing. Although, that beginning basically lasts almost through the whole song, it's still a good ambient melody and entrances me in all it's glory. The new sound that came in later on was nice, sorta brought this video game feeling to the song. That end melody could of easily gone into a Progressive Trance, but it was still good at it's place.

Well, yeah... A very nice song.

DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO PROG TRANCE D:

very nice

I must admit, I kept expecting/wanting it to break out with a kick-ass drum beat or something, but maybe I'm just in that kind of mood. Or maybe you just did a really good job of creating tension... in a soothing sort of way. Either way, excellent use of synths and combinations of melodies. 5/5.

SolusLunes responds:

You want it to do something like that?

I'll send you the .flp if you want. :D

Soothing, calm track

Although I have not heard the "original" Endless Space yet, I have to say this is a really soothing track, the synth work is masterfully done. I can feel some "spacey" aura, just spinning away in some empty galaxy, but I must say the pad is a little thin in some parts, and I heard a dissonance chord somewhere in the track. Also the entry of the second lead synth goes well in harmony with the first, and the drop in the first synth is very calming. However, I think all that is left to do is to make the hi-hats a bit lighter and have more reverb to it. Also I think the second synth could benefit from a reverb and delay.

A well done track I must say.

SolusLunes responds:

Can't believe I didn't respond to the first review for this song :p

Sure, it needs a bit of work, and that would make it just that little bit shinier, but I'm happy with it as it is. :D
