Neat! Better than anything I've ever "animated"... There are a few things that stand out to me from an outside perspective:
1. Seems that the visual resolution is gonna need some work, although it's passable for sure. Might be related to how you've framed the author logo? Random guess.
2. Some movements seem a little direct, and I'd mostly just keep note of this for later. Basically, some animations like things falling or things being thrown will change in speed over time, such as an object falling faster or a thrown thing decelerating.
3. The portal frame could've used some degree of an outline, as it does look a little funny vs the usual madness style.
Always happy to see new people add to the community after all these years, and I think you have a lot of potential. Good luck, m8.
Both video and animation quality needs some work. It's fine, people make flashes like this when they first start off. You can make your flash look better by increasing it to 1920x1080 or use Newgrounds SWF converter program, Swivel. For your animation, I recommend adding more frames to your work, and look up "The 12 principles of animation" or watch the video AlanBecker made. There's also a book called "The Animators Survival Kit" made by Richard Williams made that covers everything about animation, a .pdf exist on the web. Other than that, not bad. A solid and honest 3/5
well....not bad, strong three. The animation is bad, you need more frames to make everything smooth. You have everything ahead of you.
