Reviews for "Crimson Keep Chapter 3 - PROBABLY BROKEN, READ DESC"

the game is really on point, it's just the final part where you face badluck is kinda impossible, cause the snow lady can nearly one shot, while the dagger one attacks way too fast,
and you can't really get out of the secret passage to try to level up or buy alchemy from the merchant, would really appreciate any words of advice in what to do there ?

introspurt responds:

I am going to assume you are underleveled, because those fights are quite easy at the appropriate level.
You can still fight red jellies and steam reavers in the secret passageway. Tempting the jellies will give you a lot of exp, which will get you to the level cap (22) pretty quickly. Once you hit that, go do the Badluck route again. Make sure you are allocating your stat points (main menu > stats) and using covenants that will make the fight easier.

Not gonna lie, am bit disappointed that you can't do covenants with everyone. But that's just the completionist in me. However I'll be darn if I knew how to get the second heart for Rivan. This one's the biggest and most expansive of all the chapters, when I saw the shop I was like ... NAAAH no way! No way, this thing has a shop?! Fantastic work

Really enjoying the game so far!
But will it make a difference that I didn't use chapter 2 savedata to start this game?
I played it all, so unless the game cares about it, I won't

introspurt responds:

You aren't at the end of the chapter my friend.
You have to walk until you reach the end of the chapter, it will give you the gallery code, and then you can do it.

I don't know how the data on which conversations / events you've seen before is stored, but it causes a softlock if you beat the first Flame Zealot and then reload any save from before you beat her. The conversation doesn't come back up and the key item is still missing from your inventory. I loaded a save because I wasn't sure if the golden hairband was a one-time item or not and my inventory was full. It should be noted that this softlock persists even if you load another save. Using an incognito browser window with the exported text save also does not fix it.

Overall I have enjoyed all 3 chapters so far. It's well drawn with an interesting plot.

A few minor negative points:
The save system when I went from chapter 2 to 3 gave me some trouble. I hadn't realized it, but there are essentially 3 ways to end this chapter each with it's own unique covenant for a reward. If you want to try each story path on your own, I recommend leaving a save file from when you first start chapter 3 at the bottom of your list so you don't have to worry about keeping the save code from chapter 2 somewhere. Since I didn't copy down my game code anywhere I had hoped to reload my save state from chapter 2 and generate it again, but despite having similar save and load buttons I couldn't load where I had last saved. (I didn't clean my cache, play incognito or anything and I went from chapter 2 to 3 in one sitting so I just copied and pasted the code from one to the next.) It isn't all that bad because you can use a code someone else posted in the message or just start from scratch without loosing too much work from the previous chapters. I don't think there are any major choices from the first 2 that will affect things down the line.

Also there is sort of a level cap when you it level 22. You will stop receiving experience from basic enemy fights (but you can still get experience from boss fights). I can understand why that is there considering you are bringing your stats over to the next chapter, but it might be nice to have a way to reset the points you earned this chapter in case you mess up how you distributed them without starting all over again.

Maybe I just missed it, but is there anyway to go to full screen right from the beginning? There is usually a fair amount of text before I can make it to the menu and options button in game if I am starting a new game. It would be nice to be in full screen before that.

I really enjoyed myself overall. I look at these games based on plot first, game play second, and visual 3rd. The sex scenes are a bonus. I can overlook the second two if the plot is strong enough, but I can't find much fault in either beyond personal preferences like maybe make Soriel's nails retractable. I don't know how people can function those things in the way constantly. ;p I especially love the fact you took time to come up with even a history for the fire imps and how they can procreate with an all female race. It's little details like that, that help make learning and traveling through the game world more enjoyable.

I do kind of hate having to leave 2 covenants behind when moving on to chapter 4 but hopefully there will be chances to pick them up later looking at how many spaces are left in the covenant menu.

Playing Tips:
Easy Russet Glyph Gem: Instead of getting a random drop from the Dirt Devil there is a hidden spot to pick it up right when the game starts. When having sex with Mili at the beginning, if you can click the mouse fast enough to last a long enough she will cause a wall to collapse behind you revealing a cave with the Gem.

Iridia Gallery Pic: Iridia the alchemist has a gallery pic that can't be unlocked with any of the codes for competing the game. You can only get that one buy playing and buying all of her 1 of a kind items (the glyph and trinkets).

Badluck Summon: Who Badluck sends over to you at the end depends on which stat is higher. Your fervor vs intellect. If they are even it's random

@AXZ01 Just keep tempting the red jellies. Eventually you should get their covenant. I'm not sure but it should be by the time you see the animated sex scene.
