Reviews for "Balls to the Brawl"

It was ok, kinda anti-white blaxploitation groove but well executed programming and gritty style.

So. This was a good game, don't get me wrong. I did enjoy it. However, the game gets really tedious by level 3, and starts to get really repetitive. There really should be something to break up the monotony a little. I even tried the cheats, but that didn't help either. It is charming at certain points, but overall, the game needs something more to be good. First off, the lack of a jump really hurts the game, and honestly, I'd prefer to be able to use a controller for this game (but I know not every game will be able to have that functionality). The art could use some improvement, but overall, I did like the old animations styles of yours so I can let it slide. Good games don't always have to look the best.

Overall, it's a great effort, and an interesting game, but it does get old a little too quickly. Games like Streets of Rage still had some replayability despite being repetitive, but thsi game seems to lack something that makes it replayable.

FutureCopLGF responds:

Cheers! I appreciate you giving it a whirl and giving feedback! I agree that maybe my lack of a jump button might've been childish on my part (wanted to avoid bunny-hopping playthroughs) and that I probably could've spiced it up a bit more with either a more advanced scoring/combo system to incentivize variation of moves, or just tweaking the AI and adding new enemy types to keep it more fresh (or maybe even shortening the levels). It's food for thought and I'll definitely keep it in mind for future brawlers!

sorry, flash player not working on linux browser

FutureCopLGF responds:

Crap; didn't think to test for linux. I'll see if I can do something but might be outta luck since the code is so old and stuck in Flash.

I hate the name
I hate the art
I hate this garbage.

BWAHAHAHA! I love everything about this! I haven't played one of these beat 'em up games in years, and this scratched every itch, tickled every funny bone. But my favorite part was the ability to tap left or right mid-combo to change which enemy gets the punches. That's just... it's amazing. Never before have I felt so welcome... TO DIE!

Wait, it's part of a series!? Guess I know what I'm doing for the rest of the day...

Protip: Skip the opening cutscene. You'll love what happens.
