the war against rough walls
3 seconds is way to short. Ball gets stuck on the walls. Making the ball able to slide on walls will help as well.
It's a neat idea, but as others have pointed out, 3 seconds really doesn't work well. Make it at least 10 seconds and put the checkpoints further apart to compensate.
