Reviews for "The Question - Web Edition"

Your test game (visual novel) worked well for me with just one little annoying audio-prob.
Every time after switching to a new sentence the new sound always loops for several seconds before it plays properly.
I played it on Opera (newest Version:58.0.3135.127).

Good luck with your project.

Beuc responds:

Glad this is playable with Opera!
This sound issue is quite hard to fix, I may need the next web techs to properly fix it (without rewriting Ren'Py, that is).

Well, you've proven that it can port to a web game, so mission accomplished I guess. The game itself was kinda sucky, but that'll be the task of actual game devs to solve, amirite?

The only bug I found was that if I go to fullscreen and then back to window mode, the positioning of everything (including where I need to move the mouse in order to highlight an option) gets a bad case of the fuckups. Using Chrome on Windows.

Beuc responds:

Haha, I didn't mean this upload to appear in the New Games section, yeah it's a really short game.
Thanks for the full-screen report, I'm still investigating this, from the preferences screen there's delay and mess-up, though it seems to work fine with the 'F' keyboard shortcut...

Ok, this was pretty neat, I expected something crazy to happen if you chose something wrong, like her turning into a monster or something... but it was just a normal game xD

It's a neat prototype for a much bigger game. It'd be awesome if you expanded this more, added more dialogues, tried to maybe reduce lag ( I don't know about the others, but my game was lagging a lot ). If you put enough work into it, then it might become as much of a masterpiece as Doki Doki Literature Club! ;D

Keep up!

Beuc responds:

Thanks!
What browser (brand/version) did you use?

It's literally just a sample game from Ren'Py but I understand the test

Beuc responds:

Hi, as written in the description this is Ren'Py's sample game indeed, but using the RenPyWeb technology so you can run in in your browser, without manual download/install.
I'm the RenPyWeb developer and this allows me to check that it works fine on Newgrounds.

Some other (adult) games are using RenPyWeb on Newgrounds, I expect more devs will publish their games this way in the future.
