Reviews for "The Grand Grimoire Chronicles - Episode 1"

A very nice game, rather logical most of the way, although I did get stuck near the end - that was because I needed items which were hidden in regular-looking rocks and such, or didn't notice a small object I could interact with. I don't mind the graphics being rather basic, it's just not good for pixel hunting... The music is atmospheric and adds nicely.

Really good game. Solid writing and good atmosphere. There's definately room for improvement. A little more advanced puzzles. Some more NPC interaction. Just generally slight building on what has already been done in this game. For episode 1 this is great and I can't wait to see what the future of this series holds. Also a cool and unexpected follow up to "The strange dissapearance of Eldon Crowe." I actually played the original "The horror game with a working title" and found the remake thanks to this game! Great job and I hope to see more!

Sound Effects don't stay off, though. (walking sound)
OO I love this. I tried the online engine you're using before.. I couldn't grasp it. It just seemed so... indirect and workaround, you know? But, maybe they're better now. ;) Also, you still have spelling errors. ;) Retrieve, etc..

JeffreyDriver responds:

Thank you. I wasn't familiar with Apshai, but I looked it up. Looks rather interesting! I'm going to try and run it on an emulator.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Stencyl has come a long way. When I first tried Stencyl I was underwhelmed, but I stuck with it and I'm glad that I did. Thanks for the typo report (although they're probably not typos, I'm just dyslexic!)

Nice, simple, challenging..the youtube walkthrough was very helpful. Thanks!

JeffreyDriver responds:

Glad to hear that you liked it.

Loved it
