Reviews for "Inherit"

I see a lot of comments on the interface being bad but personally i love this style. It reminds me of early sierra games like quest for glory just a bit different. I like your take on a classic interface and the story is really good too. Everyone complaining about the interface are probably just expecting something with a more modern "point and click" style interface. Either way, i think this game is lovely and i can tell you spent a lot of time on it. Very good job!

Nirag responds:

Thank you very much!
Yeah, I've tried to create an interface that was more similar to old-style point'n'click games. Glad that you liked it!

I can't seem to be able to pick up the charcoal???

Nirag responds:

Strange issue! I'm sending you a PM to ask for more details!

I loathe this -take over the screen- style of interface. It's distracting, clunky and breaks immersion. I can't play them when they're like this. Plus it MAKES HALF THE SCREEN DISAPPEAR so you can't see the top of the game. Game breaker for a LOT of people, me included... ;( like the music though! Like the graphics, too. But, srsly, ditch this interface. It's gonna bite oyu in the ass. Old School Adventure games never needed fancy digs. They just WERE. Focus on that, and you'll be golden. ;)

Thank you for the feedback!

A little hard to play a Point 'n Click without a bloody CURSOR!!!

Nirag responds:

I'm sorry for that. Another user pointed out that issue... I've seen that it's a compatibility problem with Microsoft Edge. If you are using this browser, try playing with a different one (on Chrome and Firefox it works fine). If you aren't using Edge, can you please send me a PM with more details? Thanks!

hate the interface quite a bit. constantly having to right click when i shouldn't. if an arrow for navigation is right there on the screen. it should work regardless of what "tool" i have selected"

honestly the hand and the move tool could be merged and there are ZERO instances in the game where that would break anything.

and you don't need an eye tool either. you need to rethink your UI completely here. it becomes incredibly tedious and annoying.

i really liked the art style. but there needed to be more ambient noise than just a howling wind.

response to author:

i don't care that you can use WASD also. that is STILL tedious. the point is you shouldn't need to cycle through these things. they should be context sensitive. how did you miss my point entirely?

Nirag responds:

Thank you for the feedback!
The right-clicking is just a secondary method of cycling through interactions. The main method is by using the keyboard shortcuts A+S+D, as explained at the beginning.

response:
I got your point quite clearly. I was just answering to the first point of your feedback, the one regarding the right-clicking. Regarding the other points, I understood what you said, and I thanked you about the feedback. I'll keep that into consideration for my next game!
