Stupid people exist because of lack of sufficient penalty for being stupid. In the olden times, if you were stupid, you did a stupid thing, died, and that was the end of that. Nowadays all the social safety nets interfere with this natural evolution process.
In modern times you are actively penalized for not being stupid. People are emotional "thinkers" rather than logical thinkers precisely because this is what modern society encourages. How dare you actually use logic! How dare you actually be right when it offends the sensibilities of the more feeble-minded among society.
