for some reason, this reminds me of luxord from KHII. in any case:
We stare at the chessboard, our minds moving entire armies. his gaze is unwavering as he moves his first pawn. the play has begun! I move my pawn, then he moves a pawn, I move a knight, then we move our bishops. all this time his gaze is unwavering, though his hands remain at his sides. then, the action starts again! I swear, I saw the soldiers within pieces at that time. when the smoke cleared, he had cornered my king. I knew a checkmate when I saw one. I bowed to him, then left the table as he awaited his next naive opponent.
