a good, clean fighter, but certainly on the difficult side: it's easy to get into, but that final boss is most definitely a pain. i feel like the entire combat structure is just too random, and although it doesn't hamper my ability to lay the smack down too much, it is enough to frustrate.
i see you toned it down immensely in the sequel: a good idea, but perhaps too much. i don't think you needed entirely rule out the possibility of some sort of special attack system. the key is in design and how to implement it. i know there are plenty of examples out there, but anyway, i digress.
it is a fun game, but certainly i'll have to take a break before i rage quit. dunno if i have it in me to finish (man, i've been soooooooooo close), but it's certainly a game i won't forget either. you can't deny that, for any number of reasons. lol
