You might be an alchemist cause you turned the most boring story in the world into gold. Amazing! How can a story about fishing be interesting?! You said it yourself, there is nothing more boring then going outside to horribly molest and ruin a fish's day.
Also totally relate to how the dad tries to copy paste himself into the son like he's an empty Word document instead of catching up with the times and sharing activities and aspirations the son actually cares about like playing a gun dam PS FFS.

Least you had bonding moments with your Dad... I grew up mostly being taken care of by servants, all the while my dad was grooming me to be like him in business, sending me to private schools while my sisters went to public [I was the only son]. Rarely did he ever spend time with his kids.
People think it's great to be a privileged kid... tell me that when you've moved to 7 different primary schools and 3 secondary schools while moving countries as well. I pretty much grew up lacking friends.
Suffice to say, I would've loved to have bonding moments like this. Alas, myself and my dad have become pretty distant ever since I told him I wasn't going into business.
