Reviews for "2016 Ghostbusters Reboot Bust 8 Year Old's Dying Wish"

I get the point your trying to make & "what's up" / "photo op" joke;
However, the animation quality is obviously cheaply done.
Also I didn't think we could have titles which that many characters.

Psychopath responds:

Oh damn, you think the "Photo op" was a call back to "Wassup"? That's an ancient reference. No, that's not a reference to "Wassup", that's merely a coincidence but a happy one nonetheless.

You have a point since the animation is all motion tweening of cropped images. The cropping process took about two months of the total work time from when we started in August 7. Honestly though, if I knew back then what I know now about Fireworks, I would've been able to finish everything comfortably by the middle of September, likely with the Easter Eggs fully finished. As of right now we could shit out tons of animations just like this with high quality 4K images at 60FPS.

Also, yes, Newgrounds is becoming more versatile. We can have very lengthy titles now, just like how I can upload a Flash movie at 100 megabytes when a few months ago the max was only 20 megs. I could have simply called it "Soulcrushers!" but I named it this way for search engine optimization purposes as I would & have on Youtube. I see you also have a Ghostbusters parody submitted for Halloween2015. Methinks that's why my score is suddenly lower than before you left this review. You also have about half the views I do. Let me fix that for you:

This was very well done, it looks like something from arfenhouse, which I like.

The only part I have to critique is the "photo-op scene" where we zoom in on the girls is a bit visually confusing, but other than that, this cartoon is pure gold.

Keep up the good work!

Psychopath responds:

Oh man, I've just been compared to Misteroo. I'm very pleased by this. Now I feel inclined to return to making Pringles With Guns.

By the way, the "zoom in" part, are you talking about the part where the Huey Freeman's father eats the scene?

I did like some of the jokes that were made, the animation wasn't too bad, but given what you were making fun of, I was kidna expecting more out of it, like maybe the flash to be a little longer and some jokes that would have had me rofling. Also, some of the jokes you did make were kinda old and over use. Don't get me wrong, I did laugh, and I do thank you for that. That's it man, happy Halloween!

Psychopath responds:

I was honestly surprised and a little disappointed when I learned that the movie was only three minutes long when I was done with it. I figured it was going to be longer when I was making it but I guess I overshot my estimate.

This is most awsome shit that I've seen today. But I have to say that here is too much letters with no action in beginning!

Psychopath responds:

Yeah I'm sorry about that too. I knew there was a chance that the title cards at the beginning would be a turn off or "red-flag" to many people that they're about to watch an MS Paint animation or something. I honestly couldn't think of a better way to establish context. At least I was able to squeeze in the reference to John Donne's Meditation 17 with the bell tolling but that's an obscure reference nonetheless.

I like the smoothness of the tweens and the low-quality talking heads but I found the animation kind of hard to follow and tedious at points. Behind the humorously bad technical aspect I didn't feel like there was any more intelligent humor beneath it.

Psychopath responds:

Hey, my shitty plan worked. I'm glad you liked the smooth animation; I felt as though that since I'm using Tweening anyway that I should animate it in 60FPS to compensate since it was mostly a rush job. I'm sorry that the satire didn't have more appeal, fellow Craptonian.

You might like the newspaper articles; to read them, pause at -0:43, -0:33 & -0:21. Be prepared though, we get pretty edgy on some of them, the New Pork Times in particular. I spelled Paul Feig's name wrong by mistake but it is the New Pork Times, they're bound to make errors.
