Reviews for "Letter for Mimi 2"

Like the first game..you didn't disappoint with this one either. Very interesting and kept my attention trying to collect the pencils, but made it fun along the way.

kcnh responds:

Thanks for your review!

I actually really enjoyed this game. I hope to see another addition to this. It gave me an adventure feel looking like Pokemon/Zelda type. For how there was area I was unable to get to (construction) that gives me hope you will make more!

kcnh responds:

Thank you for your review. The construction site is where a new neighbour will live in the next game. The place where Richard's house is, was a construction site in Letter for Mimi 1. In the sequel I wanted to have some continuity of the elements found in the first game, and reuse them.

Yeah, this game was fun.

Fun map to explore. Simple quests, with relevant level of challenge. Cute graphics and cute music.

If the designer ever wanted to make a large scale rpg, I would appreciate larger sprites and a slower sprite movement, instead od moving one full tile, maybe move 2 or 3 pixels at a time.

5/5

Also, could the author maybe let the players know if it is HTML5 or flash.

kcnh responds:

Thank you for your review. It is a Flash game. Many people dislike slow sprite movement: see the reviews of another game of mine: Crossroads:2D. There is actually a run button in this game, but I have disabled it because it might make the game too fast. The 4-directional movement as seen in this game allows for certain type of puzzles (boulders) and easy collision checks. If the characters would only move a few pixels at the time, it would be a lot harder to implement all that stuff.

I liked the rock puzzle and how this game was largely reminiscent of pokemon and zelda feels.

kcnh responds:

Thank you for your review. The inspiration from the rock puzzle came from the Pokémon games. . Letter for Mimi 2 lacks the battle element Pokémon has, and the world is al lot less compact. I grew up with them and I am trying to make a game that captures the feelings I first had when playing that game.

Yeah, this game isn't my thing. I couldn't help but think this was some kind of joke. I mean, it didn't make any sense at all to me. At least I was able to get fairly far. The graphics weren't that good. That bit with the rocks really is hard.

I guess it was at least something that was out of the ordinary. I can like that. It was kind of like "Pokémon" with all the color names. It just didn't seem to have much point to me. It's not memorable.

kcnh responds:

Thank you for your review. It is good to hear that you thought it was something 'out of the ordinary'. I hope I can make the next episode more memorable.
