I thought the game was great up until I could not find a way to progress after the turbine thing. i enjoyed the art style and the sound for the most part. I also kept picking up these gun looking things but i couldn't figure out how to use them.

If you're talking about the Rocket Silo, once you activate the fan, you provide fuel and oxygen for the rocket. Now you need to head to the generator to turn it on, so you can finally test the rocket engine to proceed. I've just updated it so the button tells you what you're missing before you launch.
The monsters are great, but the game is horribly laggy and near-unplayable because of it.
