Reviews for "Aztec: Tactical Conquest"

you almost got all the names right, glad someone actually knows that aztec isnt their actually name, its mexica meaning reed people, like the game. Chichimeca btw translates to dog people refering to the roaming nomads in northern mexico who were named due to their practice of easting raw meat. the game is a little hard too look at needs a little time b4 i could figure everything out but besides that great strategy game

Glad someone actually cares.
(Btw, "chichi" indeed means "dog" in nahuatl, but wikipedia says something different about the Chichimeca name origin.)

Very good game. Nice attention to detail as far as gameplay goes. My only complain was the music, which was quite distracting (i muted so all is well) All in all, good job.

Overview: Addictive

I usually don't go for strategy games, however I did enjoy this historical and tactical based experience. It offers great game-play, it allows the player the ability to reinforce their army through upgrading, although it did feel restricted in a sense of lack of reward. Furthermore there is a wide range of unit classes to help further the depth of strategy usage.

Artistically, it's simple but eloquent. Although the design may appear primitive, it clearly express the differences between protagonist and antagonist models. The changing environments were well designed and offered variety. Reiterating on the fact of having multiple units, alongside the changing environments, really do work mutually to convey further interest of the player.

Music choice was perfect, it really assists in setting the mood of the game. With each drum beat synonymous with anxiety and tension. It really does make the difference in game-play. I'd hope there would be an option to replay a 'base' to essentially grind. But unless continuity and forward progress without interruption was the intended game-play, then I by all means stand corrected.

This is one of few strategy games I actually enjoyed, well executed and designed. I hope you will capitalise on your predisposed skill and continue to make gems for all NewGrounders to enjoy, thank you "Thunder-Hawk"!
