Reviews for "BRUCE: Angel - Innocence Lost"

My wife's vocals are in the track too, lol XD Good work as always.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

That's right! I knew that but I forgot to write it in the description; I'll fix it immediately. Thanks for reminding me XD

It would be great to hear this in it's project context. That being said, I'd love to hear the piano on it's own. It's such a beautiful piece.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Yes, it will be awesome to see/hear the project when it's out! It will still take a while as I have tons of tracks to write still though, hehhe. Alright, I might just upload the piano track on its own then as well, later today, or at least in the near future :)

Thanks for listening and for reviewing!

I know I sound like a broken record but your piano playing is beautiful as always.
I think you've played some parts of this track when we were jamming on Multiplayer Piano xD
A piano only version would be nice, I think the vocals will add more effect when played along with the scene I'm imagining the scene to be a bit scary and sad?
Great work :)

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Hahha, no problem. I appreciate the comments :)
Yeah, I may have played something similar. If you recognize the track, it can also be because I sent it to you via skype under another day earlier this week :p

Alright, I'll upload the piano only version later. Yeah, the vocals definitely fit better when in the right context. But I don't want to spoil anything about the project, hehhe :p
Thanks for reviewing!

The piano would sound great on its own. And what skills! ;)

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Thanks, man! Much appreciated :)

I like the atmosphere and the progression of the piano. Admittedly, I thought the "ghosts" sounded more like melodramatic gargling. Maybe it would help if you tried to hide them a little more in the mix by increasing the wetness on the reverb. I tend to think that indistinctness is creepy, and I think creepiness is what you were going for here. The piece also was a little more fast-paced than it should've been in order to maximize the drama and/or ghostly qualities of it. Also, I thought the delay effect you added at the end of the piece was kind of a lazy way of concluding what was otherwise a very flowy and well-balanced effort. I've been pretty tough on you in this review, but fortunately you might find that the bulk of my criticisms are relatively simple to address. Otherwise, keep up the good work! ^^

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

I'm glad you like the progression and the atmosphere. Worth to note, is that this animated audio drama isn't really supposed to be 100% serious, which is why I think the ghosts were made to sound like this :)

I don't want to hide them in the mix, but I uploaded a separate version without the ghosts as well, for those who simply like the piano music for what it is :)

As for the ending, it is indeed a bit lazy. The reason is though, that the original piece loops! And you can hear that version too if you want to. Once the project is picked back up, I'm sure this track will just fade after a while, as I don't think the scene is quite this long. We'll see when/if that happens though!

It's fine to be critical. It means you care about stuff, which is usually a good thing :)
So thank you for being critical!
