as a lover of animation , I gotta say that I am loving this video and I can't wait to see the next one
Reviews for "Tales of Zale - Episode 1"
The art is stunning. I can tell that a lot of work went into this. But there's 2 major things severely holding it back:
>the frame working, which is quite choppy. This wouldn't have been bad if the whole animation was slow, but with say the chase scene, it gets rid of the sense of urgency since it makes the movement feel slow. You had some parts done well in regards to this, but others need much more work.
>The story; I hate to say it, but quite honestly the story is just not that good. The voice acting is decent, but the story elements are, well, cliche to the point it's painful. From the lines to the character voices (by the time the cat appeared, it was hard to believe it wouldn't have the stereotypical kind of voice that cats seem to almost always have), it just doesn't work. Also, I could be wrong, but there seems to be a lot of influencing from older animes in here. The potential for the story itself is good, but all the elements that help construct it and present it are no where near up to par with the rest of the work, thus bringing the overall plot down with it.
It's still possible for this to turn out well, but as of now, I just can't see this as a decent enough future series. The potential is there, but so are MANY kinks.
Exciting! This is looking like the beginning of an interesting adventure :) The colors are pretty and the characters are cute. I am looking forward to the next episode <3
