Reviews for "Rogue Legend"

Like the game very interesting and addictive.
Suggestion: It whould be nice if the game had a TEXT-SAVE feature so that the players data could be saved manualy and be pervented from being lost especialy during pc cleanups.

Like this very much, some notes for improving though.
Quite a lot of them are just "convenience" or anti-frustration.

- Make the items you drop upon death low priority/cheap.
I lost my iron shield the first time I actually died, then lost my tungsten sword trying to get it back. Later in the game I lost a diamond hammer and hadn't the faintest idea where i'd actually dropped it.
While it does make dying a lot more intense it also makes for alot more rage-quitting.

-Automatic pickup of items already in your inventory
I could have more than 100 pieces of wood in my inventory without any limit that I could see, so why would I ever not want to pick it up? A good rule i've heard for game design is "the less clicks the better" and in this case I couldn't agree more.

-Automatically bypass the inventory if you have a backpack
Having to drop and fiddle around with my inventory just to put a single stack of berries into my backpack was a major hassle, when I have a bunch of tools already there I only had a slot or two free so would need to pause every time I picked up something new.

-Auto selling of items
It might be more realistic to have a bloke pop around once a day to pick up my sellable items, but it was still annoying the few times I wanted the money fast.

-Some form of machinery to speed up farming
Maybe I just haven't gotten far enough to the game to see it, but I only upgraded my farm once before I was crying out for a combine harvester and sprinkler system. Yeah, you can upgrade the watering can but it's still pretty tedious needing to run around all day watering and picking veggies
Speaking of all day...

-Longer days and a way to increase stamina
I felt the days could have been a bit longer, by the time i'd finished farming I could run a few screens adventuring style and have it be night time. And while I meant a way to increase stamina permenantly in the subheading there a few pickups or a way to brew coffee wouldn't go amiss either. A final note on it, personally i'd like the stress mechanic to be gone. A few times I found myself far away from the starting point with full everything through strategic eating/bringing a water block with me but would still have to choose between going home or getting sick very fast. Annoying :/

-Checkpoints/ two way recall
Between short days and dropping stamina it was hard to go too far in the game for any length of time.
Sure there were sleeping bags to make it a bit more feasable, but when you have a purple teleportation ball that can take you back home(neat idea by the way) I don't see why you couldn't have an at least temporary two way teleportation.

All I can think of for now, yeah i've enjoyed this game and since finding it yesterday have been playing almost nonstop. Good luck with the kickstarter!

i was actually enjoying this game -- it had a nice mix of certain obvious influences that i enjoyed, but. i can't keep playing it because it's infuriating. every so often, i think when my character woke up from sleeping, i would go to my chests to grab my watering can or what have you and the chests would be wholly empty except for maybe an item or two. i mean, sometimes i can't even recover from this, because i don't have money for some reason and i don't have any resources to craft tools with. so i'm boned. this is kind of game-breaking

like i said, i was enjoying it, but this bug is so obnoxious that i can't even continue. soooo yeeeah. i don't know if anyone else has had this issue -- it's persisted for me through refreshes and new games. kind of obnoxious

While this may be a good game, if what everyone else says is true, I sadly cannot say the same. Why? Well, it's literally unplayable for me. I can play up to the point where you leave the village at the beginning, but am inable to leave at all. Everytime I try to, the screen just flickers black and leaves me there. The most I get is the text telling me I own the land now, but it's still the same as it was prior to the timeskip (fires, soldiers, corpses, etc.).

And it's a shame, too, because what little I can play is actually pretty neat looking.

Well, I did in fact like this, even though it didn't make much sense to me. It seems like I was just going around everywhere and looking at this weird stuff over and over. I admit the game is quite unique. I don't know how to beat the tutorial. There must be something I'm doing wrong with it. Everything was on fire and then a year later, it was normal.

I really do like the graphics in this. They show some really fine detail. I just wish I knew how to make money or something. I'm glad I played this game, because it really is very interesting. Yep, I would recommend this.
