Wow! I have to say that this is the first game I've played that really felt like a full game and not just a quick flash game on Newgrounds. The physics, character movement, graphics, music.... everything about this game feels perfect. I love that some enemies seem impossible until you learn their patterns and weaknesses. It's a tribute to games of the past.
I read the developer blog and they had said that people complained that Gale didn't attack fast enough or move fast enough, but I found that everything moved at just the right speed. Any faster and the game would become too easy.
The last smaller budget game I was really excited for was Child of Light. I was extremely disappointed for a number of reasons with that game. It kind of turned me off of the indie scene for a bit. Then the other day I randomly decided to check Newgrounds and this game was the featured title. This was everything I wanted from an indie game. Really the full package.
I am looking forward to the sequel and I hope there are plans to bring this to Steam, PSN and XBLA. This is a game that definitely needs to be played.
