Reviews for "Quintessence"

Was there any rhyme or reason to the sequence of events in this video?

What I should have gotten out of the film is that, regardless of whether you're a boorish ruffian or an unappreciated genius ahead of his time, in the end we're all mortal and are destined to face the same death regardless of our actions. What we do is not for the sake of fulfilling some great plan in the end, but for the sake of achieving our own ambitions here and now, even if that ambition might be to do something that won't reach full fruition in our lifetimes.

But instead all I could think was "hey, the perspective isn't changing as it's zooming in through the keyholes -- columns should change their apparent relative position as you're going in instead of just having the entire picture get bigger". I think my brain is broken.

Cool review, thanks 3p0ch! Fun fact of the day: perspective doesn't change during a zoom, because the camera isn't moving. That's why you can have crazy effects when you actually move a zooming camera (->Vertigo effect).

Where can i find this amazing organ music?

exotworking responds:

Great you liked it! It was inspired by the music of Arvo Pärt, especially the song "Pari Intervallo". I may upload it to the audio portal

It is a tad on the long side, but it's a really interesting idea and following the story you can see the irony. One man dies of heart break and another of from doing bad things that made bad things happen to him. It was really interesting and the animation was great. At times it does get a little dry with the lack of audio and speech, but i can see the artistic side. Maybe you should of added a little more music into it but not to much.

Overall this is very artistic and the ending was a neat idea, but the guy with the mace had such a small role and I really don't know why you made it seem like he was the centre of attention in the comments. Keep up the good work. At least I saw the artistic side of this, because some people seemed not to see it from what the reviews tell me.

exotworking responds:

Thanks for your long review, Punk-Out. Sometimes the joy of trolling just overwhelms me a bit.

I glad to see your new creation but unfortunately that is not what it shoud be.
Dude, you know that people like to see something short and understandable but this is very long and enough empty movie.
Yes, thoughts about eternity are eternal. Like the wind through the keyhole you trying show to us your thoughts but what can we see here? Emptyness of sorrow or death wish?
No! We can see here a plenty of doors and keyholes, doors and keyholes.

+1 Star for previous creations.
+2 For execution.
+0.5 For main idea.
+0.5 For nice sound.

exotworking responds:

hey thanks for your review. I imagined the ending to be more about the music than anything else.
