Reviews for "Slender2D: City"

Easy, not very scary, a bit glitchy. Easier doesn't always mean better. But at least I could find all the pages this time and actually beat the game.

larrynachos responds:

Yeah, I just realized that easier isn't better. The next one will be harder!

Way too easy I finished the game without even seeing the Slender Man it was kind of disappointing.
It was really smooth and played nicely could use more atmosphere but it was not bad in fact I liked it but make a bigger map and make it way harder because either I'm too good or it's simple.

larrynachos responds:

Lol yeah, it's pretty quick. I highly recommend you play the first one. I'll make sure to do better on the next one!

nice :D

larrynachos responds:

Thanks dude!

This was a decent experience. I was expecting something challenging, but the experience was smooth. You know that "horror game" is easy when you finish it quickly at first try and when you play again YOU have to chase the monster to see what happens when you die. I was expecting something more than fast flashes.

But I can't complain. The game is what it is. Did what it promised and the quality was pretty fair (other than the poor collision detection). So for me it is a 3 stars, which would be more or less the rating I would give to the original game (in the independent short simple horror games category).

It was more like an experience than like a game with challenge, but I have no complaint. I hope to see richer games like this, with more variables and ambient elements as well. Think, for example, of a shadow wolf running across the street, events triggering weird visual behavior or moving elements, a walking monster. Things like those, that enrich the experience.

Thanks for sharing.

larrynachos responds:

Yeah, you pretty much nailed it, although I think you were a bit too nice. I personally think this game is shit, because it's poorly constructed and half-assed, but I'm happy to see that you actually like it :D

I know I'm a wimp with horror games, but this freaked me out! I actually really liked the Pokemon buildings--Lavender Town was my first taste of horror (had to set down the game multiple times during the tower)--and this brought me back to my terrified 7-year-old self. I was constantly on edge, especially with that grating, nails-on-a-chalkboard music. There were a few glitches (invisible walls, as someone said below), but that only made me a little more desperate, especially when Slendy came 'round. Only managed 7/8 letters, so I'm going to try again as soon as I look at some cute cats to cheer myself up.

larrynachos responds:

Ooh, I should make a lavender town game! Sucks that you couldn't find the last page, though. The map is tiny, so you probably would have gotten it eventually. Have fun with the cat pics lol :)
