Reviews for "Cycle; Fourth Moon"

It is a fun enough game for a while, but somehow it remembers me of animalcrossing in A BAD WAY. It reminds me of aaaall the day skipping to get outfits/furniture.
Also there's nothing really to do in this game once you've paid the mortgage. So I wanted to get all medals and it means getting up- gathering the ore - looking for shirts and then waiting loooooong til I can sleep again. It's sort of annoying...
Ideas to improve this:
- get MORE longtime goals, like when you keep supplying the scientist he builds some stuff in town.
- implement some actual interactions with the neighbours
- balance out the money gathering. With ~10 trees you can make money a tad too fast. Also there was no point whatsoever in planting the sapplings D:
(Also pls explain the right/middle/left spot in your home at some point, it was a tad confusing, I thought middle might be next to the door and right where the bed is...)

Why I still rated this so highly is because it IS a cute game indeed. I liked that the fishing wasn't that hard, the flower decorations were nice and I can't complain about the graphics or the music. Sure it's not a super special awesome game, but it was definitely worth the first 2/3s of time I put into it.

Ahaha fair points :v Thanks for the criticisms and review. I definitely think adding more longtime goals would improve the game quite a bit. Thanks again, and have a great weekend!

A few things that could be improved: more tasks per day, or make them more repeatable. i played for 2 weeks in the game and once one has all the tools it just becomes a hoarding and waiting for the right day to sell for double price. harvest before 12 and after 12 and then sleep, rinse and repeat.
Sappling drop rate should be increased. I chopped down a tree every day after the first one and on those 13 tree-fellings i never got more than 1 sappling, yet one of the trades is for 3 sapplings. being able to spread the trees to increase income would be a nice addition.
selecting tools in the store can be pretty frustrating as there is no way to select between the 2. On that note improved tools either through crafting or higher level prices would be nice.
Fishing. Is the biting random or not? i figured out that you have to stand near the edge of the bridge early on, as in the centre your hook is too high up for the fish but yeah. also having some control over which fish one catches would be nice instead of pure randomness, again room for improving with better fishing rods for better creatures. the fact that a salmon and a tadpole are equally easy to catch seems just a little off, no? =P
Overall an interesting little game but with some issues and more depth would defs be appreciated.

Great suggestions and ideas- thank you so much! Upgrading fishing rods and pickaxes would be really cool- I definitely want to add that!

i really love this game but why does watering can break why cant you just refill it at the lake

JackAstral responds:

Ahaha true. Thanks for playing + reviewing!

Can't understand why so many people are complaining about the game mechanics.
It's absolute simple basics - grab some fruit from the trees (3 from each tree), where they regrow TWICE EVERY DAY, sell them for 100$ each in the mart, buy a tool for other activities, repeat.
It's written out in the description right here below the game.
If you guys are too incompetend to read or at least TRY gathering something sellable, don't rate the game based on your lack of intelligence. "Ur gaem is bad becuz I has monki breen.", that's what I'm basically reading here.

A game should be rated based on how it actually works, how it looks, feels and things like that. You can't rate what you don't even get to.
And guess what, the game is fairly easy playable, I only found a single minor bug so far and completed most achievements. So either I'm Einstein or you guys aren't trying...

Anyway, I enjoyed the game, although it could feel like a drag to wait for the ore vein to respawn everyday and the clothes shop to display the missing clothes for the achievement, I can only sleep at night, so when my char wakes up at 5am, mines the ore and checks the shop, it's like 8am, I can't sleep and have to wait 16h ingame ( ~5min) to get the ore to respawn, then I can either sleep or wait another 2min til 6am to check the shop again.
In most games where fishing is possible, it's usually the most boring and time consuming task, here I actually finished it before the others since it's possible to catch multiple fish every day.

About the minor bug I found, I tried to plant flowers I bought (I got 1 each), accidently planted twice and had -1 of that flower in my inventory. I then tried it with other flowers and could in fact plant most flowers again, even though I had 0, it went to -1 for them. I couldn't plant more, so -1 was the lowest I could go, purchasing these flowers again fixed the number to 0.

And here a little tip for medal hunters:
There is no hidden astronaut token in the game to find.
You get the medal by doing something that is said to be unimportant by both, the npcs and the game creator...

What is this? A game for ants?

Ahaha
