Reviews for "JUGGERNAUT II: Uprising"

Overall, this is a really good game, kept me entertained for a few hours. However, there are some glitches that really screw up gameplay.

In the town destroyed by a hurricane, after rescuing the woman's child, you could talk to her multiple times and earn the rewards from her quest ad infinitum. Quite an easy way to farm money, but obviously an glitch.

However, there is a glitch that REALLY screws everything: after beating the pale bloodbat, when you return to the guy who requested him dead, he keeps repeating the dialogue from the previous hunt. Altough that's an easy way to farm crystal essences (he drops two whenever you talk to him), this makes it impossible to complete his quest, therefore making the "Saintly" medal unobtainable.

You fix these glitches, and take TypicalUsername advices, and you'll have a really great game. So far, it is merely a good game, with potential to be a lot better.

TheEnkian responds:

Haha, yeah, the unlimited money is definitely not intentional. I think the Beast Master quest with the Pale Bloodbat must be only an occasional occurrence because I tested that that medal worked a day before release and somebody else seems to have unlocked it in the game. I'm not sure what causes it, but I've passed this on to the programmer and hopefully we'll be able to work out why it didn't unlock for you and get it fixed.

Glad you got a few hours out of it and that you enjoyed it :)

Excellent game , but the thing that may bother is that when you finish the game, you cannot load it again,in otherwords it restarts and i lose all of my progress making impossible to get all medals., i though that you can get the 100% until you finished it but no, so really you must take a look of this for the third part and if it is possible maybe enable the option of autosaving, and the player decides if he enable or not. Anyway and excellent storyline remember me the old FF games. I hope the third part arrives soon. Overrall of rating for the game 7/10.

TheEnkian responds:

Honestly, I thought you could load it after defeating Valkyrie. Really sorry about that! Glad you enjoyed it overall and are looking forward to III though :D

good graphics and the game is excellently programmed. I can tell a lot of time and effort went into it. From the menus to the quests, and even the tiny sparkles in the water. Good job on that.

I don't like that the first two characters look identical. You can point out their hair and clothes color but otherwise they look like the same character. Even Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior had distinct characters and they were made in the 80s.

I'd also like to see more variety of the monsters. The first forest was just filled with dog/rat clones with no distinction other than color. The next area was just a bunch of mantises. Adding more monster varieties will help prevent waning interest.

Also, what was the point of having the void and shadow sphere skills when they did about the same damage as a regular attack? Again, you have two characters who look the same, using the same skill. Don't tell me this is part of the plot where Dagon is like the future version of the other guy; or that they are related (siblings or father/son.) Even if that's your angle, I'm bored when I'm fighting the same enemies, using the same skills between characters whom look the same. It's too much.

You get my point. Ultimately, I felt everything was just too similar.

Speaking of the battling system - I would like it if the combat system had a timing feature (ie: Mario RPG; Legend of Dragoon) where you hit a button at a certain time to land successful or critical hits. Something like this would help make the game keep my interest longer.

You put a lot of effort into the game and I'll award three stars for that. But as soon as I hit Rondo, I didn't feel the need to go further. I'd love to try your future attempts, though. Keep at it!

TheEnkian responds:

Identical? The only thing they have in common is the black outline. Different hair, clothes, eyes, skin tone, Dagon has stubble, Aura has a scar. Not really sure where the identical thing is coming from. No, they're not related in any way either.

Yeah, there's only about 20 different enemies in the game. I'd like to double that for the next game, it'd allow for more variation in the battling too. As for the spheres, they have the chance to inflict status effects. Shadow Sphere can blind an enemy and Void Sphere has a (smaller) chance of instantly killing a non-boss enemy.

Hope you do try out the third one when it comes out! Thanks for checking this one out.

ok after having the conversation with dagon my game froze up. i liked the game up to that point but i would like a free rest point or at least gold drops so im not losing gold by fighting monsters.

It's a good game, but there is so much stuff to be improved.
encounters are too frequent every 2 1 second, theres no beastiary or anything that tells you what creatures drop what materials, yukidia is a very very hard boss considering his blind attack can make your characters attacks miss constantly, theres no potions that would do something for all party members at the same time, materials are pretty rare to come by, theres no reason why attacks should miss other then the blind effect.
if you improved on these things by updating the game after working on it, that would raise the rating up to a 5.
